Cloud Server Hosting FAQs

Cloud hosting is a type of web hosting that stores and serves data on a network of virtual servers (cloud) instead of relying on a single physical server. It’s a more flexible, scalable, and efficient way of hosting websites, applications, and data. Cloud hosting offers flexibility, scalability, and reliability, making it an excellent choice for businesses of all sizes, especially those looking for growth and high performance.

Cloud hosting works by using a cluster of servers (virtualized servers) to host your website or application. These servers are connected and share resources like CPU, RAM, and storage. When your website needs more resources (e.g., during traffic spikes), the system can automatically scale by drawing from other available servers in the cloud, ensuring your website runs smoothly without downtime.

The main difference between Cloud Hosting and Shared Hosting comes down to how the hosting resources are allocated, scalability, and reliability. With Cloud hosting, you get everything that Shared Hosting offers along with the ability to scale your CPU and RAM, and an extra boost for your website with an all SSD server stack.

SSD (Solid State Drives) are a form of storage technology. It is a much faster storage than the existing HDD (Hard Disk Drive) storage. Faster storage means your data gets written to and read from your storage faster. This means that your websites will load much faster if they are running on SSD storage.

Upto 8 GB RAM and 8 cores can be added with any Cloud Hosting Plan.

For Cloud Hosting (US) packages, you can purchase a Dedicated IP for an additional cost by raising a support ticket.

  1. Scalability: Easily increase or decrease resources as needed (e.g., storage, bandwidth).
  2. Reliability: Redundant infrastructure ensures minimal downtime if one server fails.
  3. Performance: Faster load times with distributed servers and content delivery networks (CDNs).
  4. Flexibility: Pay only for what you use (pay-as-you-go model).
  5. Security: Enhanced security features like encryption, firewalls, and automated backups.

Yes, cloud hosting is an excellent choice for high-traffic websites. It can scale on demand to handle increased traffic, ensuring your website remains fast and reliable even during traffic spikes (e.g., during sales, promotions, or viral content).

No, an upgrade or downgrade is not possible between the plans. However, you can purchase additional RAM and CPU cores as per your requirement.

You are responsible for your backups and web content. We create our own weekly backups , and can restore your web, email and database content from those per your request. However, this is NOT a procedure you should rely on to keep copies of your content safe; we recommend you make your own backups. You can take a backup from your cPanel or better, use a remote backup solution.
